2012 Movie Review Youtube
Going to the movies is haram????
asalaam aleikum
on my youtube page (please see the link in my profile) I make movie reviews. I just made a movie review for the movie 2012 which I saw last night with my friend. and a brother sent a message to me telling me that it’s haram to go to the movies because they sell pork products there (so I guess that means I shouldn’t go anywhere that sells pork products?? I don’t even eat meat!). he told me something along the lines of I shouldn’t even be watching movies like that or believe in them (I don’t believe in that 2012 nonesense) because it’s against the Quran….and also that movies have sex scense and kissing scenes and fighting scenes, which Muslims should not be watching.
is this guy for real?? so am I supposed to just completely stop watching movies? does this mean I shouldn’t be watching tv either?!
I don’t get it….

No sister, i think what he told you is silly, if you live in a non-Muslim country like most of us do, it is almost impossible to avoid places they sell pork, because even at school they do…
I dont see any harm if u go to the movies, it is a form of entertainmet, in is much better than what other people do like going clubbing and drinking..
I am a firm believer that what matters the most are our intentions… If you have good intentions and you mean no harm and no sin than Allah SWT is all merciful.
just whatever u do keep it halal……
