What is Your Opinion Of Avater Movie
After watching the movie Avatar. I believe that James Cameron has outdone himself again by accomplishing things beyond even his wildest imagination. It wasn’t until he looked at this creation several years later, that he realized how remarkable it was. He created imaginations inside of people who don’t take the time to dream. His first movie since Titanic, was not in the least a let down, but rather a work of genius beyond genius. What a smart man to have had the patience to wait until the technology for this film became available, thus pushing the envelope with the special effects required to make this movie what it turned out to be. Without the enormous special effects, this story could have been written in a book, but not told on a screen. And for a change the movie would be better than the book. Special effects combined with beautiful scenes, one right after the other, and the “best of the best” acting talent enabled this film to become the “perfect storm” movie combination. I became captivated and drawn into a place called Pandora, and considered it a rare adventure. It became my place of existence and I wanted to explore places the movie didn’t take me. I was asking myself, “What more do the Hallelujah Mountains have to offer?” Can the plane please find a way to land so I can explore? Did Avatar’s exist there?” This larger than life place could have captured my undivided attention for quite some time.
Sigourney Weaver, as Dr. Grace Augustine, is a woman on a mission to accomplish her given tasks and is well cast as focused and determined. Sam Worthington, as Jake Sully, complimented her talent, and was what I think an ex-marine should be; rugged, unafraid, human and approachable. I would put my trust in his abilities anytime, anywhere. One predictable outcome in this movie is the Jake and Neytiri story line, but most movies with a love connection are predictable, and one less thing to figure out. What’s a good action movie without a little bit of love?
Costumes certainly added greatly to the polish, seemed appropriate for each scene and character, but were not distracting from the story line. They were plain and unassuming when necessary, and detailed properly for certain scenes.
The weapons used were able to accomplish the job, unlike some movies where they resemble toys, that would amuse even those who aren’t weapon enthusiasts. They were appropriate for the “real characters” in this film.
Concluding my thoughts, I have been entertained, amazed, impressed and yes even a little bit amused, by a movie that was made with a talented director, cast and crew. This film was put together like a finely tuned sports car, where each piece of the puzzle clicked into place and was made to look easy. Something this complex that flows with such ease is truly an amazing work of genius beyond genius. Will there be a sequel or is there another work of art by James Cameron waiting to be taken out of the drawer and dusted off when the appropriate technology becomes available? Either one or both would suit my fancy.
