Bride Flight movie Review

The film focuses on women: Ada, Marjorie and Esther, who reunite 50 years after the historic flight. Bride Flight is based on best-selling book Bruidsvlucht Marieke van der Pol, who also wrote the screenplay for the film.

About two thirds of the way in Bride Flight, who was lying on the seat, located in a comfortably familiar narrative arc when – bang! – That the wheels Sex Scene. My eyes appeared and dropped his jaw.

Ah, yes, I thought, is an American film, that is Europe. Sex scenes in movies European sex scenes in movies Saxon seems a step beyond holding hands.

It is not only due to the appendages that dropped on with neglect, or that get a little theater accoutrements gawk all male. The racket is not even pure entangled actors do.

Above all, what distinguishes European sex scene, apart from its tamer cousin to Anglo is the fact that such scenes are likely to arise in any movie, for any public.

There I was, thinking I was watching a movie gentle ladies took to the Bayswater Bowling Club, when suddenly an eyeful Police fashionable rump.

But I'm making it sound like a light romp porn, Bride Flight that certainly is not. The film, directed by Dutch Ben Sombogaart, follows the lives of three Dutch women who are on board the KLM flight that won the 1953 air race from London to Christchurch, New Zealand. Ada (Karina Smulders) is a naive young farm girl, Marjorie (Elise Schaap) an opinionated girl with a plan, intent on marriage and the whole package nationals, while Esther (Anna Drijver) is a fashion designer, fleeing a past he would rather forget.

All three are on track to meet the Dutch husbands and settled in New Zealand. Also on the flight is Frank (Waldemar Torenstra), the well-toned rump.

The story is elegantly structured, sliding between now and 50's with ease. The three women are now 70 and gather the news of the death of Frank. Each has a connection to Frank and the news his sudden disappearance inspires them to return to his past.

It is giving nothing to say that Frank, like most men who resemble a happy hybrid

Robert Redford, Anthony Hopkins,

had a very busy time of it in their younger years.

The script written by Marieke van der Pol, is full of drama. Sometimes it's a little heavy handed, relying on stereotypes and tropes familiar narrative to push along the story.

However, the emotional power of film and dramatic outgrowth of history are certainly compelling – you never get bored. One of the real coups the film is inspired casting. How many times have you seen a movie in which the young version of the character looks nothing like the elderly? Previous versions of the three women (as Ada Pleuni Touw, Petra Laseur as Marjorie, Willeke van Ammelrooy as Esther) are not only talented actors, they also share a resemblance with real younger counterparts.
