Movie Review Strange Days

movie Review of Nigeria – Law of the Jungle – 2010
Located in the jungle that is Lagos, Akin, a petroleum engineering graduate has been looking for work for years. One night, a chance meeting in a parking lot with a friend Honorable Jembe of his late father brings a new opportunity. Honorable Jembe recommends for a job. He gives her his card and wrote a note back to the MD of the company. Luck is not on his side because he loses his wallet with the card before you have the opportunity to interview the company.
On the other side of Lagos as we see Emeka Akin is a graduate of the unemployed. He is behind his house rent, due to be evicted when he sees a man drop his wallet on the street. Instead of warning the man or return it, wait until the man is out of eyeshot and grabs it. Akin The opportunity now becomes yours.
Irene Akin's girlfriend. She works in the management of finances, but hates his job, however she has to stay as she needs the money to support herself and Akin. That part-time models, and is only waiting for the moment that employment gains Akin so she can quit his job and pursue his dream full time.
_____________
Chasing dreams
Irene's father is totally against leaving "responsible" job of managing the finances to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a model. He says:
"Look at me I always wanted to be an artist, but my humble beginnings would not allow me that luxury, so what I can do? I practice … Now get into the arts, because the medicine puts a roof over our heads and food on the table. "
Irene answers
"Dad has happened to you that you could never paint bodies much better than you might expect to be cured? Maybe even win a Nobel Prize?"
This dialogue gives us food for thought. Is it better to follow the dream to follow a practical path, which is more likely to give you a better life in the sense of material things, but then leaves you dissatisfied? This is the dilemma is struggling with Irene. Is there a right or wrong answer? We find that Irene has been using models to 5 years. Is there a point where you must be realistic and give up or you must always fight to the end?
Omoni mites is beautiful but I put it as a model for what the casting for this was a little out of his mind. I think she's too old and not thin enough. Models these days are young sticks unless the lot being a teen club that built a fan base and get a job remains in the style of Naomi Campbell. Not going to happen.
Perhaps the film was intended to show that despite their non-adaptation to the ideal of what a model it is assumed that he was still able to "do it". Whatever it was I think the film would have been better if they had done their "dream" different. She could have dreamed of being a specialist, a pilot, I do not know anything different. We saw this in Guilty Pleasures model and that the movie had the same problem like this when it comes to casting credible role model.
Tribalism
This film features a cast largely mixed with Yoruba plenty of touches, which is not the norm in films EMG. The film asks the Tola secretary in office Emeka. Secretary refers to it as "a stupid Ibo." She also wondered how he got the job in the company. I it was rather strange as there was no mention of any problem related capacity Emeka and his work before this scene. It is also favored by the MD, so what is your problem? Do you mind maybe the fact that Yoruba has shown his boss for an IBO?
Emotional ConflictIrene Emeka has about a friend and he is the boyfriend of her friend's potential. She and Akin is struggling at the time that finds the note from the minister in possession of Emeka. However, it is inevitable that is emotionally broken. How is this lovely, gentle man, youth class is actually a fraud and a liar. Of course, this is not in their nature, but see what despair can lead to a person. I like that Emeka had multiple sides to his character. Because someone is generally a good person does not mean who have never done anything wrong.
The end of the film
It was nice that the kids could put aside their differences and unite. It was nice that Akin had no grudge. I guess when he sat down and thought he might have wondered if maybe I could have done the same if had been in the same position. There is an understanding between them when Emeka Akin says, "It's a jungle out there. I know you know.
We also found that the MD of the company knew from the beginning that Emeka was a fraud, but he saw his younger self in him and so gave him a chance. I thought that all these things came together and gave the film a beautiful and satisfying end.
_____________
The situation can be viewed in two ways. Irene says:
"Every man who was finding his wallet."
Similar responses
"The asshole screened and passed his way into my work".
I guess the truth is somewhere between these two states
Conclusion:
I love this movie and highly recommend it. The characters were thorough and well developed. The story made sense in its entirety. Is a human story that highlights the struggle of ordinary people. It a movie that everyone can relate to. It could be you or me or anyone who knows you're in the standing position to be driven by desperation to do something not normally do. We see the opportunity, under the background of the family connection and has the ability to transform someone's life and opportunities are unfair.
The film leaves the tremendous sound quality. The sound varies from scene to scene. Added to that very often had a lot of background noise. In fact, you have your finger on the volume knob all the time. That's the bad sound, apart from that the two stories together excellently. Era a simple story, low in the drama that often characterize the movies of Nollywood, and said and done well. Great job cast and crew. If you can get more Beyond the sound of this is definitely must-see!
