Would you consider "Watchmen" a failure?
He was only 55 million, which is not much for a mega-blockbuster …. 300 like 20 million more … Moreover, the comments are not very good 64% on Rotten Tomatoes 56% on Metacritic B-Movies of Yahoo that is extremely mixed for film of this degree. Matthew Goode was a terrible Ozymandius right?
I personally like the movie, it was flawed however. The film was all fans Watchmen've always wanted. The film is a treat for action movie fans. What else I can tell, people like to watch comedies and movies Oscar bait did not enjoy. The source material is extremely graphic violence, profanity and nudity everywhere, also three scenes of graphic sex. A large surprise that the film was rated R in the same way, good movie, not made for critics! was done for the fans, 55 000 is not "bad … but is not surprising either. We can not consider a failure until it drops at least 70% at the box office if it is not a failure.
