Salt Movie Trailer
The trailer starts off with a Russian informant going to the CIA to give them Intel on an upcoming assassination attempt on the president of the united states. When they are unable to find any back ground info on this informant they are quick to blow it off until he names the CIA officer interrogating him as the assassin. From what I can tell out of sheer panic she attempts to flee which doesn’t help her case any.
The movie appears to be your typical spy thriller. Not like that of James Bond but more like Enemy of the state. It helps that Angelina Jo Lee is in this film as the lead character because honestly if they had cast a male lead for this it probably wouldn’t have been very interesting at all in the long run. How many times are we gonna get the same recycled garbage over and over again? There’s only so many transporter movies or Alias rip offs that the public will pay to see. To me it’s like they cast Jo Lee as a back up plan. People will always pay to see a sexy spy girl kicking butt and taking names regardless of what the plot is, As long as the girl looks good whiles she’s doing whatever it is they have her doing and its well directed/acted. Jo Lee was a good choice for this why? Have you seen Tomb Raider? If so then I’ve made my point.
Jo Lee can take any type of role for a woman in and action movie and make it sexy and entertaining. Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a prime example. Not many female actress’s in Hollywood now days can do what she does with the affirmative action female characters and these movies usually bring in the big bucks when she plays these parts. She’s probably cast in these parts so often simply for the reason of selling tickets.
From what little the trailer shows it’s just Salt running from the Law trying to prove she wasn’t going to kill the president. This kind of story line has been beaten to death. There are countless movies where this exact same situation has been played out over and over again. You know the one I’m talking about. “Oh I’m a (insert government agency name here) and I’ve been set up to look like I’m going to kill (insert big government official here) and I have to prove my innocence…..But not before crashing countless cars in Nemours high speed chases, blowing said vehicles, jumping off buildings right as they are about to explode, saving someone’s baby from certain doom and by the end of it all, everything’s back to normal.” It’s been done so many times its not entertaining anymore….yet with someone as good looking is Angelina Jo Lee playing the part of the agent….Yeah I’d go see it. I’m sure as with most movies now days there is some kind of twist ending to it all. Over All I’d say check it out. If anything its probably good for at least one sitting.
All in all, If your into the spy action thriller type movies then It looks like one I recommend to everyone. It looks stuffed with action, explosions and Angelina sexiness which is enough for me. Thanks for reading.
