Shocking Gamers Review

The first line of this video speaks loud and clear for all the eager gamers out there: “Now it’s time to rundown my 5 most anticipated games of 2010 assuming they don’t all get delayed until 2011.” The games that are considered “big title” usually don’t make it to shelves when they are expected so we know this commentator knows what he is talking about. He continues by describing a medley of beautiful games that are sure to keep us game freaks inside for a while.
The first game on his list is Lost Planet 2. The original was a highly anticipated game as well and brought up a lot of chatter in the online game forums. The sequel should no doubt do all that and more. The look of the graphics and landscape is stunning, and a new chapter to this franchise’s storyline is going to attract fans of the first release. However in a time when first-person-shooters are reigning, the third person perspective may put off some gamers. Either way this game is definitely going to make a name for itself.
Next on the list is Heavy Rain, a game that looks rather unique to say the least. This seems to be one of those “make your decisions wisely” kind of games. Heavy Rain has elaborate scenes and much more interactive decision making than most games, where every little thing the player chooses to do throughout the story may change the final outcome of one of the four characters. People that like a slower pace game with lots of twists and turns will find much enjoyment in this game, but for the run and gun types out there, a different title may be suitable.
The third game on this list is another sequel that is sure to turn some heads. Mass Effect 2 drops in 2010 and has some hefty shoes to fill from the first title. The shooter/role-playing style of this game is what is really going to draw players to this game. It has a gripping storyline, awesome visuals, and the blasting of alien robots with big guns will never get old. This looks like a great game that the true fans won’t be able to wait to get their hands on.
Fourth on the list is a game that’s sure to be gory and filled with glory: God of War 3. The final chapter to this epic story of war waging and minion mashing is going to be the first on the Playstation 3. This means the carnage is going to be that much more palpable. The devastating weapons and insane combo capabilities will make this a game to remember and a game to play over and over again.
Last on this most anticipated list is Super Mario Galaxy 2. This looks like the epitome of Super Mario action for all fans of the legendary plumber. Flying through the air, collecting coins, bouncing off enemy heads, even riding the loyal companion Yoshi are all novelties of the game that players will enjoy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The spherical, 3-D worlds are the new cherries on top of this insatiable looking title.
This countdown was informative and entertaining, and definitely got some gamers’ mouths watering. Luckily for the commentator the eye-catching visuals in the games were enough to take the focus off his lame one line jokes. His lack of cleverness aside he did give a good amount of information in a short amount of time, and put together a respectable list of games to look for in 2010. The cut scene and game play footage wasn’t much, but was substantial enough to elevate the already sky high level of anticipation for these new titles.
