When your adopted, do u get a new birth certificate?

I was told you can never get a new birth certificate. So how come, when people have been adopted. Some never find out? Couldnt they order their birth certificate or no?

Yes you do. A very, very close family member was adopted by his step father at the age of 7 and they were given a new copy of his birth certificate that showed his name change. It was only the small version and not the full version that shows his parents names etc, but it is all that is needed to prove who he his. So yes you do/can get a new copy and no one ever needs to know that you were not originally who you are now
