Your Highness Movie Review
What do you get when you take a perfect prince, an innocent virgin, Danny Mcbride attempting to seduce Natalie Portman and an all mighty seer? (Who not to mention must be the offspring of Yoda and the blue caterpillar from Alice and Wonderland)
“Your Highness” hit the box office grossing $9,360,020.00 during its April 10th, 2011 opening weekend. Jam packed with witty humor and ridiculous takes “Your Highness” is not a movie for everyone, you must have an “open” view on comedy as you never know what is coming around the corner.
A tale about the “ultimate quest” of two brothers, Prince Fabious (James Franco) and Prince Thadeous (Danny McBride) as they venture out to rescue the virgin, Belladonna (Zooey Deschnel) and do battle with the evil sorcerer Leezar (Justin Therox), and restore peace in the kingdom.
We watch as a prophecy evolves into a quest where the two very different brothers come together in order to vanquish Leezar. Along the way they meet Isabel, (Natalie Portman) whose beauty is a great coverup to her lethal touch. I prefer Natalie as a butt kicking ninja over the starved ballerina she starred as. Both her and James Franco are versatile actors and this movie reminded me of Robinhood Men in Tights meets The Princess Bride a bit. With so many different jokes you need to see the movie in order to really appreciate it. If you have an open sense of humor and a love for sarcasm I highly recommend “Your Highness”.
